Funky Flair Inspiration Challenge

Hi & Welcome

Just when you think the weather is cooling, we are hit by another heat wave.  Bring on winter!!!!  Fotuntely I was able to finish my page before it hit, now I just need it to cool back down so I can re-enter the craft room.   Soooooo neeed airrrr con!!!!

This was the Challenge, Created by Eve Rae, she always creates not only a beautiful colour palette but a yummy mood board as well to get your creativity flowing.

February's Challenge

We also have to use one of Eve's gorgeous Flairs!  Since I only had one left I decided that I need to alter it to fit within my page, below is the before shot.

This is what I created!!!

The picture is of my daughter on one of our High Tea dates, this one is at the Samford Hotel in Brisbane.  Its one of faves and its so tranquil looking out over the Botanical Gardens.

Close ups show my adorable little dragonfly that I have die cut from this gorgeous felt that I recently purchased whilst up at Toowoomba.  You can also see I have used a trasparency to draw the eye away from the person sitting in the background.

Here is my close up on my altered flair, I did try to ink but unfortunately I didn't have the right colour in a stazon and nothing else wanted to take.  My alternate was to use a rubon and I loved how it turned out.

Another shot from a different angle so you can see the layers, stencil and stitching details.

http://morethanwordschallenge.blogspot.com.au/
 This my take!!!!

My title reads from the top - Wonderful How You Find Adventures Everywhere!  This was created with chipboard, stickers and printed transparency!!!  Of course adding sparkle wasn't hard, with Prima SIIC and loads of glitter, shame you just can't see it sparkle!!!

A bit more of a close up!  Picture is of my daughter at work, apparently that day she's a cross between a Sparky {Electrician} and Cop.
Even when she is at work she can create a little sparkle or should I say spark!

Products used

Scrapmatts - Chipboard
Bo-Bunny - Textured cardstock
Prima - Blooms & SIIC
Mixed Media - Gesso, textured paste, mists, glitter
The Crafters Workshop - Templates

Kraft + Plus Challenge

Hi Everyone

There weather is still way to hot here for my liking!!  We are supposed to be getting a cool change tomorrow, fingers are crossed.   Just spent a couple of lovely days in Toowoomba, bonus of not just attending a craft show but getting to scrap for a couple of days.
My first share with you is Kraft + Postage Stamp challenge, this can be interpreted however you wish, as long as it's clear as mud on your page!

My friend and I went through all of our stash and out of alllllllll of the hundreds of products we had between us we found a large outline of a postage stamp and two different styles of stamps,  they use these when the post is  processed.  We then remembered the good old decorative scissors, the reason why you never throw these little gems out and  few sticker stamps.
In the end I was quite happy with my achievement with such little supplies.  We could have gone to the shop and  purchased some stamps but hey where is the challenge in that!!!

MY TAKE

For the background I have used a Kraft as required and I have stamped the postal stamp frame on several sheets of really old Making Memories kraft paper.

The decorative scissors worked beautifully to cut around the stamp shape, I also then stamped them with the other two stamps I had found.

I've photographed some close ups of the gorgeous Scrapmatts & Blue Fern chipboard.  I have embossed them with some aged aqua embossing powder, my new fave for that vintage look.

The challenge was a great opportunity to scrap a photo of my son, like most teen boys he didn't like his photo but he indulged me with some.

Other Products use:

Chipboard - Scrapmats, Dusty Attic & Blue Fern
Overlay - Kaiser
Papers - Making Memories
Kraft - My Minds Eye
Metal paper clip - Scrapmats
Gesso - black & white
Twine
Stickers - Prima
Diecut - Sizzix

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, enjoy the rest of your week!!!!
