The Color Room Palette 94

Gorgeous, gorgeous colours this week as we step into the Family Room, and if you haven't been over there yet you should check it out.

The Design team did a beautiful job with their papers from the Sponsors Megs Gardens Design, these papers a simply LUSH.

I thought this photo of my Aunty worked perfectly with the palette, it was taken of her on my Wedding Day. I used one of the Websters diecut papers for the base and then layered it up with a diecut circle from spellbinders, a basic grey scalloped circle frame and a sizzix die cut that was then embossed.

Fussy cut flowers are from Pink Paislee as is the mistable canvas.

Other products used: Hambly Transparency, MM Chipboard, Pink Paislee numbers, Prima flowers and Sei sticker.

Thanks for looking.

Well what a wonderful week I have had. I left home last Tuesday it was pouring with rain and the weather reports were not good. I live in an area that always ends up with us flooded in so I needed to get to my friends house before that happened.

I had to make a couple of stops on the way, and my friend rang me telling me that I had better hurry up as the rain was heading our way and roads were been closed all of the place. Needless to say I made it to my destination with the rain be we were fortunate enough to get it as severe as other places in Queensland. Well I am back home now and it did nothing but rain whilst I was going flooding my family in and now that I am home all though not raining heavily it is still grey and dreary. I wasn't able to get my layout posted until now but with no sun around I am hoping the colours are not to off.
I have incorporated the pattern in the background by cutting out and raising with foam, I also used these as my journaling points and word unexpected  was my jump point for my testimony.
Evidence: Digital Frame, Tulle ties in my flowers, shiny metal banners
Products Used: Kaiser Off Shore Collection "Tide & Breaker, Basic Grey Blush "Delish", Sassafraslass, Kaiser Blooms & Bling, Prima Blooms, Pink Paislee resist canvas, Bo Bunny Alphabets, MM Metal. Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out CSI and see what all the other beautiful Design Team layouts.

Creative Scrappers 192 & TCR Palette 94

Well I am finally back from a visit with my friend, we did nothing but scrap for 4 days, it was great. I am not sure what I did but I edited this post as I had written the wrong name in the heading and when I updated all the images were gone. Since I didn't have the images with me I was unable to re-post. So I am posting the images again. Thanks to those who dropped by and left me comments they were nice to read.
I thought these colours would work perfectly against a black background, so I used that and some core-dinations cardstock that I slightly sanded to show the buttercup colour.
A few asked me where I got the image of the little boy on the rocking horse from. He was a image that I cut from a paper range that I used. Unfortunately it wasn't a stamp.
Product use: K & Company Papers, Websters, Dusty Attic, October Afternoon. Thanks for looking.

I adore this photo of my Mum and Her sister, this is the first time I have scrapped and it probably won't be the last as I normally do one for each of the albums that I am  working on.

The photo I have used is of my mum and her sister.

Butterfly doily print on the background paper and the cutouts under the photo.
Circular elements are 2 large circles around the photo
Tag, the little spool tag with journalling
Sheer ribbon a little bow behind the flowers.
I used a Gold Metallic glimmer mist but its not really showing, in the photograph so I
                             went over with glitter.

Journaling is about how as Sisters they haven't always seen eye over the years but as they have become older they seemed to have put the differences aside and their relationship seems a lot better.
I cut two Nestability circles using my Grand Calbur and staggered these onto the page, I also matted some old MM paper that I had then placed a Glitz Design Transparency of them and curled the corners. The fussy cutting pieces are from Basic Grey, Prima, Kaiser, October Afternoon and Websters papers.

Other products are:  Kaiser blooms, bling and wood accents.  Maya Roads split pin, rubons.

Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Have a great weekend.

The Color Room - Palette 93

Thought I would just add this to my post rather than doing a separate one, that I was featured over at TCR. YAY!!! There were so many beautiful pages, thanks Lydell for choosing mine.
Couldn't resist playing along this week over at TCR. I have quite a few photos of my DD at her year 9 Graduation and these colours were perfect so I that I could scrap a few more of the 100's of have of this night..lol I did start off using the Sketch but I am thinking now that I really did get side tracked, lol.
I cut the pink circles in the background from some old MM Trim.
Its hard to see on these images but I did some rolling of the patterned paper through the centre bottom to give it a curled effect, looks so much better in real life.
Other Products used: Websters, Kaiser Stamp, Dusty Attic Chipboard, Sizzix die cut, Prima & Petaloo blooms and Bling, MM Trim. Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Creative Scrappers 191

Wow, it always amazes me how quick the weeks roll around, already we are half way through January and before we know it kids will back to school here in Australia and normality will settle back in...YAY to that.

I was a little unsure what to do with this Sketch when I first saw it, but once I started working on it it just seemed to flow.  The picture is of my Dad and his Sister when they were little, there wasn't much I could journal on this photo other than how different they both are.

I am totally loving my new Spellbinders Grand Calibur that I received for my Birthday and the Grand Circle nestablities, so don't be surprised if you see more circles on my pages.
I love the new October Afternoon Farmhouse Range and thought it would work perfectly for this photo.
Products Used - Prima Ledger Paper and Alphabets, Kaiser Diecut paper and resin blooms, October Afternoon papers, Clothes Lines, Guest Room and Sunday Diner, Grand Circle Nestabilities, Websters Alphabets,Maya Rd Pin and perfect pearls. Thanks for looking and any comments you may leave are always welcome. Hope to see you over at Creative Sketches.

Creative Scrappers Sketch 189

Truth time here, I completely missed the deadline here, for some reason I wrote down a completely different due date even though I completed my page over a week ago. So I do apologise.

I Hope everyone is now getting back into a routine, I love the holidays but time just seems to get away from me.

The picture in the layout is of my DD, I used to love taking picture of the kids whilst they are asleep, giving you the much need moment of peace.

I have also tried to stick to the Sketch as much as possible I took the darker edges into consideration as a form of matting and did exactly that on my page .I used some old Prima papers that I had sort of pre-cut for another layout but didn't use but worked perfectly with the Sketch.

Tim Holtz brick embossing folder was used on the circles.
I have also done some machine stitching and used some Graphic 45 cutouts. Thank you for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Christmas Overview

As mentioned in my last post December was pretty much a wipe out for me, not only making sure everything is ready for Christmas Celebrations but the winding up of the year for our business ready for the next year. I took a moment today to look through photos and found a few products that I made for presents and a layout that I made a while ago but never got around to posting so here they are.

The layout and Cards I made here were part of a Challenge that I did on a retreat on went on late November.  The requirements were to receive Ugly paper, which was 2 sheets, we also had to use wood, wet medium, hand made flower and some form of fibre.  We could use anything else as long as we had checked all of the list off.

I went with making a card first then remembered I didn't bring anything with wood so went out into the garden and found some bark that I made into a button for the centre of my flower.

From there I got a little carried away, I figured I was given the paper and set the challenge for myself to use every remaining piece of the two sheets.

The 2nd Card I used my nestabilities again, stamped the little banner fussy cut out the paper ribbon and made little pegs from more wood out of the garden.

Card 3 I used negative from the nestability cutout, die cut a Tim Holtz banner from some Prima packaging and for the wood again I went out into the garden and found some paper bark that I ran through my Big Shot with my nestabilities to make my hand made flower.

Last but not least I made a layout, again using the nestabilities dies and Tim Holtz flower die,  as the photo was taken over an Easter break I found some cute little eggs from K & Company to tie in my theme and some little twigs from the garden that I tied together with some ribbon for the challenge requirement, over all I was pretty pleased what I was able to make from 2 sheets of paper.  I love these sort of challenges, and was lucky enough to be rewarded the ribbon for best overall work, something like that!!!

And lastly one of my DD best mates family moved to Sydney, this was such a huge step for her. She has being going solo for a while now trying to raise her kids without any support from the X and her mum and dad thought why not have the complete upstairs of their house that is way to big for them.  Its a massive space and it would benefit all of them in so many ways.  So I wanted to give her something that she could document her feelings but also give her encouragement to know that she was doing the right thing.

WOW, that was like the longest blog post I have ever done, hope I didn't bore you too much if you even made it this far...lol I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year. Thanks for looking and for your lovely comments you have taken the time out to leave through out 2011, blogging is quite time consuming just keeping it up to date so its nice to know that people actually read it and take a moment from their time to let you know they appreciate your efforts if projects inspire why not thank those who inspire you. Bye for now Fi
