Farewell!!!

Okay there goes another weekend in a blink of an eye.  I realised that its been over a week since I've posted as life has been just a little hectic as it always is this time of year.

My son just completed year 12 and not only did we have his Formal to attend, we had his final graduation at the school  where they are handed a portfolio detailing all of their accomplishments throughout the last two years of senior school and to top it all off  he passed his manual drivers test first go, a very proud moment for  his Father and I.

Next year will be an interesting year for  me with no more running around after kids, just typing that makes me laugh as I am sure I will still be doing washing, cooking and cleaning at least until they finally move out.

Okay so before I head off to do a few of those chores I listed I thought I would quickly share a page and card I made for Paper Temptress.

I have triple machine stitched a circle around the pictures, popped a journal tag behind the image telling the story about how my son had to have these ducks.

Scrap n Art Magazine

Hi Everyone

Welcome to another new week, I'm sure it will flyby as fast as all the others, before it does though I wanted to share with you this great online magazine that I was also invited to be one of  their in the "Spotlight Artist" for the month of November.  They have some great tutorials not to mention a great team of authors such as Kristie Taylor and like any magazine they are always wanting submissions giving you the opportunity to have your work featured.

A little snippet from their website

We have been providing pure Information, Inspiration and Education since February 2008.  Each month we provide full editorials on new companies and old favorites, tutorials and digital downloads that are education, out of the box and exclusive to our subscribers.

Scrap n’ Art is a traditional and digital scrapbooking, mixed media and paper crafting magazine. Our publication originally was distributed quarterly via electronic PDF format.  However, we have grown to over 150 pages of content and it became difficult for our subscribers to continue to download. By the way, we are NOT a paper magazine. We have taken our education based publication and brought it online in an easy to read, print and PDF format and do it  MONTHLY!

DON'T MISS OUT
I would like to say a big thank you to Melita Chow for not only featuring me but also offering my blog readers a free 30 day subscription for Scrap n' Art.  All you have to do is leave a comment below, like the Scrap n Art Facebook page leave a comment saying that I sent you, then sign up for Scrap n' Art using the coupon code "FionaFA", now you can sit back with a coffee/tea and enjoy.

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE

By leaving a comment on the  Scrap n' Art  Facebook site stating that I sent you will give you the opportunity to win a 12 months subscription that will be randomly drawn.

Good luck and enjoy your 30 day trial.

Until next time!!!

Colour Palette 8 - Colorful Creations

 Hi Everyone

Well another month has been and gone and it seems true what they say "Time just flies by" just as I think I'm in front of my challenges I realise I've forgotten one and end up rushing around like a mad women, I'm sure you can all relate...lol

I know a lot of people from the USA have had to deal with Hurricane Storm Sandy it only seems like yesterday when we had the same clean up here in Queensland, my heart goes out to those that now have the long process of getting their lives back to some kind of normality as they clean up such a huge mess.

I think that is why I was drawn to the image I have selected for this months colour challenge, both the image and the colours were so dramatic looking and after little tweeking I loved the 5 colours that I came up with,.  If you would like to check them out please drop by Colorful Creations here and check the palette out.

MY TAKE

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for ages a friend and I attended a Scrap Retreat and Saturday night was dress up night, not sure who's wig that was but I decided it really didn't suit my complexion.  However it was a fun night.

I have really dug into the patterned paper archives here, as most of you know I love challenging myself to using several different companies collections rather than just one that has been co-ordinated.  Here I have used Basic Grey "Fusion" & Äged & Confused" Alpha Berry, Sassafrasslass "Life Is Beautiful", Daisy D's "Chloe Marie" & Pink Paislee.

For those who haven't been scrapping for longer than 4 years you may never have even seen these before and those who have check through you stash time to get them used.

I love this new addition to my masks I think its called Bingo Ticket, I threw the packet out so I'm not a hundred percent, I then spritzed with some glimmer mist.

Product Use
Pattern Papers

Basic Grey "Fusion" Pink Flamingo used as base, "Lucky" Sweet Lavendar & Grape Fizz
Sassafrass "Life is Beautiful" Ambition. fussy cut flowers
Daisy D's "Chloe Marie Collection" Blackberry used on top of the Pink Flamingo

Thanks for looking and a big THANK YOU to those that take the time to leave me your lovely comments and I'm look forward to dropping by your blogs to see what newly created works of art will be show casing this month.
