Colorful Creations Blog Hop and CCG Palette 224

Loved this beautifully soft Palette and the idea of making a card so I have combined it with Paula's Challenge.  For someone who is always crafting there is really no excuse for me not to have cards on hand, but for some reason I never seem to have any.  So this is a great way to make sure those cards are made and always on hand.  With that said my DD will be turning 18 in a few months so I will be prepared.

Paula's Challenge was to pick something from her Column A - I have chosen dry embossing which left me at left two other items at least from Column B - I chose to also use inking both in my stamp and around the edges of my die cut shape and fussy cutting, I have done this on the dress form that was also something I had chosen as part of the CCG Designer Challenge.   I had purchased this Couture Creations "Vintage Dressmaker"embossing plate weeks ago and thought it was about time I used it.  I loved how it turned out!!!

I also used the nestablilities Grand Labels 23, I have cut the kraft with this.

Chipboard is from Dusty Attic and has been spritzed with Coffee Shop Glimmer mist and sprinkled with fairy dust.

Other products used: Bo Bunny Country Garden, Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection, Dusty Attic Champagne Kisses Blooms, Maya Roads Pins, Tulle, Kaiser Alpha, Twine, Liquid Pearls and Decorative Button purchased from Ivana's Blog.

There is only a couple of days left for this Challenge over at Color Combos Galore but keep an eye out for a new one, the Design Team members always creating some beautiful inspiring work.

My First Reveal

I am so excited to finally reveal one of the four layouts that I have made with the April Cést Magnifique Kit. Keep checking back though as I will be able to reveal the rest of them in a couple of days. I have used everything in the kit on my layout.
The papers in this kit were perfect for fussy cutting which I love. I have cut the pattern out that looks like wire fencing and have raised it with foam dots. I used my nestabilities Grand Circles, which you probably noticed I have used a lot lately, trying to get my monies worth...lol
The Kraft pocket was also included in the kit, I have cut the bottom off and tucked in on the other side of my picture. The Dusty Attic swirl was treated with gesso, coarse glitter then spritzed.
The picture is of my DD taken a couple of years ago whilst we were holidaying out at Kingaroy on a friends farm, we spent one of the days at a local dam so the kids could water ski. However my DD is at that age where it is not cool to get wet...or should I say get the hair wet. Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave in advance.

Coming Soon!!!

Have had a super busy past few days, my Cést Magnifique Kit arrived last week so I have been scrapping away, 4  pages and 1 card later I can now stop and take a breather and catch up.  Can't show my pages yet, they are for the April Kit.  However why not pop on over and see some of the teasers by some of the other amazing Design Team members.  Whilst your there check out the past kits as well, these gorgeous kits have been put together by the owner Leslie.    And if you are not yet a subscriber you may want to re-think that, already I have made the above and could possibly get another two pages easily out of the kit with only having to add cardstock.  The kits are awesome value!!!!  Whilst your over there check out the forum and challenges if you are looking for a little motivation or inspiration as their is plenty of it.  To take you there click on the above badge.

DUSTY ATTIC BLOOMS - COMING SOON

I also completed this page using the new Blooms from Dusty Attic.  I was so excited to receive such a beautiful range to work with whilst guest designing.   You will not be disappointed by the colour, texture or size variance.  So that I could share with you how gorgeous these are I had to whip up another page,  I used the colors over at Color Combos Galore blogspot.  Unfortunately I didn't read all the requirements so cannot upload,  I used a picture of myself instead of one of my kids so I am hoping to get another one done in time.  If you would like to check the colours out, the link is in my side bar.

I thought the colours here worked perfectly with the My Minds Eye Range "Follow Your Heart" Collection. I had a few scraps floating around after I had cut images from them already so decided to use them all up.

The Dusty Attic swirl was given a treatment of gesso, crackle accents and micro beedz, thank goodness I have an extensive range of these dating back from over 5 years...lol I have used them more in the past 12 months than I ever did.

Whilst I am catching everyone I wanted to share that we will be having a Blog Hop!! Okay so its not Spring here in Australia as we are making our way through Autumn but I can guarantee the weather is just as beautiful and warm as if it was Spring. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons as we are finally getting away from the heat.

So we are not just welcoming in the new Season we will also be welcoming in the new Design Team Members! Come join us for the Spring Fling Blog Hop March 30st – April 1st! Each DT member will have a challenge for you and a chance to win a prize! Colorful Creations will be offering a grand prize for playing along! The more you complete the more prizes you can win!
Make sure to visit each DT member’s blog to find out your secret product and visit their challenge. Please leave a comment so we know you hopped on by and playing along!

Your layout or project must be newly created as of March 30th, and cannot be combined with any other CC challenges. You have until Saturday April 8th midnight MST to complete challenges!

So this was definitely a long post and those of you that made it all the way to here, thank you!!!  And I hope you will keep your eyes out for to see my challenge for the blog hop.

White + One

I stumbled over this site Colorful Creations whilst looking for some Challenges, the players seem really friendly and I love that there is several challenges going on through out the month. After signing up I received and email about CC having a DT Call and thought why not apply I like the idea of setting the challenges myself and we also offer a RAK to the winner. The hardest part of applying was coming up with 3 projects that no one had yet seen, fortunately I found a couple. A couple of days later I received an email from CC letting me know if I was still interested they would love to have me on board. Of course I accepted. Here is my first page that I was working on before I applied White + 1. This is such a great concept and I love that it confines you with the colour. I chose to do Pink but on the watermelon side, I love that you can use the lighter and darker shades to give your page depth without adding any other colours. I also combined with the Dusty Attic Sketch by Michelle Grant and I slightly twisted it.
The picture is of my husband and DD Tayla. I had organised for my husband to be home on time from work so that I could grab a few hours for myself at the shopping centre whilst he took care of her. I was still nursing and was running late and was visualizing this dramatic scene of her screaming the house down only come home to this...lol of course I had to snap it, not the best quality photo but that's old film cameras for you.
Products Used: BB Bling Cardstock, MME Follow Your Heart, Websters Alphabets, Dusty Attic Button Hearts, Swirl & Name Plate, Prima Pearls & Flowers, Matha Steward Coarse Glitter, Sizzix Die Cut Flowers, Imaginisce Number Stickers, Melissa Frances Resin Key, Glimmer Mist Thanks for looking and hopefully I will see you over at Dusty Attic or Colorful Creations. Dusty Attic goes High Tea

As promised here is the Hat I made for my friend for her High Tea Birthday Celebration, which was held at The Old Tea House Gallery in Mudgeeraba.

As  part of the High Tea experience they do encourage you to wear something fun, and of course what could be more fun than a cute little hat decorated with Dusty Attic whimsies and some beautiful blooms from Prima and Kaiser.

I have used the Peacock Feather, Mini Fairy's and the large Hour Glass.  I gave each these the special treatment of Matha Stewarts Course Glitter.

The High Tea experience was wonderful, I chose a Tea called "Pina Colada" no alcohol but I chose to have it chilled and it tasted exactly like it smelled...hmmmm I could do with a cup now. The food was plenty and just when you thought their was already enough out came a plate of Scones, all of it was delish. And although the weather was hot and humid it was soon out weighed by the company, such a great day. that was finished off with a shopping trip with the Birthday Girl. Its days like this that has reminded me I have been spending way to much time at the computer instead of socializing with real people in my life.

I have made this hat from a pizza box and some heavy card stock packaging, oh and a hot glue gun which I have found can be quite dangerous...Just Saying!!! I have the battle wounds to prove it...lol Thanks for looking. Fi

Just Found - Photo Card Boutique

OMG I just found this amazing site called Photo Card Boutique, I was checking out Pinterest when I stumbled on this site. I love, love, love Monochromatic Palettes and started looking for something that might meet my needs when I stumbled across this. If you love colour challenges but find it hard to meet the deadlines then maybe this might be more your thing without the added pressures. Has anyone else seen how many colour palettes are on this site??? Would love to hear if you have.

Oh and if you haven't checked out Pinterest if you've got hours to spare then go and look, if not avoid it like the white light as times really does get away from you....lol Bye for now Fi

Challenge Combo

Well its almost hump day which means the weekend will be here before we know it.    I would  like to thank all of those who stopped by and left me comments on my last page I really do appreciate the time you take to leave them, so I am sending you all a big THANK YOU, sorry to scream but I wanted you to hear me....lol

This week I have combined a couple of challenges, first over at Cëst Magnifique we are having a number challenge so adding numbers to your page is basically all you need to do to go into the monthly random draw,   I am also playing along at PMS!, I know you have to love that blog name, right? And of course we cannot forget about Dusty Attic, I am Guest Designer over there this week I get to play with lots of yummy chippies,  I have used one the large Scrolls just released.

The PMS! Challenge was to use two words for Inspiration Fear/Phobia and of course the page has to be about yourself. I didn't really have a photo to go with this but decided to use one that I did have and journal about these words instead. I used my numbers in my title for the Challenge over at Cést Magnifique and I have hidden journaling behind my photo mat.

I made a tag from scraps and popped it behind the photo mat with my journaling that reads:

"I was going to say I don't have many fears until I start over thinking it all. And I found I do have some, but these are really out of my control. 1. My family being in a serious car crash, 2. Not spending enough time with my parents, 3. Dying painfully as my family stand by and watching. And my one Phobia is extremely large spiders. And they are definitely huge here in Queensland

I have applied textured paste and Gesso to the scroll once dry I  spritzed with TA Black Magic.

Products Used - Prima Patterned Papers "Nature Garden & Swirl, Melissa Frances Glitter Apha & Numbers, Nestabilities Grand Label & Circle die, Maya Pin, MM Ribbon, October Afternoon Stickers, Dusty Attic Scroll #8 and Tattered Angels Black Magic mist.

Again thank you for dropping by and for taking the time to leave your comments.

Color Combos Galore 221 & Sketchabilities 66

After a great weekend of High Tea and Shopping I had enough time to play over at Color Combos Galore, I loved the Palette and it was perfect for a boys page so I decided to also combine with Sketchabilities 66, well its my twisted version of it.
I have scrapped a picture of my Son hiding in a tree when we spent a day up at O'Reilly's in Queensland.
I Started by cutting a large circle with my Grand Nestablilities, then decided to use the smaller circle die and cut a circle from that one I have then off set them. I stamped a banner from a MME stamp set that I had, onto the brown patterned paper and blue cardstock. These were then cut out and stitched down around the circle.

I have also used the newly released Dusty Attic alphabet and name plate, these were spritzed with TA Coffee Shop and stamped around the edge with MME hexagon stamp.

Products Used - October Afternoon Sidewalk Stickers & Kick the Can Paper, Dusty Attic Chipboard, MME Be Amazing Transparency, MME Be Happy & Howdy Doody Stamps, MME Patterned Paper Breeze 6" paper pack and MM Felt Ribbon. Martha Stewart border punch.

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend or at least a productive one, weekends just seem to fly.  Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

What an Amazing End to the Week

Hi Everyone I just wanted to share some very exciting news!!! Just when I didn't think, that last week could end any better with my month starting at Dusty Attic as Guest Designer, Sunday I received an email from Leslie Kammerdiener from C'est Magnifieur. If you don't already know who this is go and check out this amazing kit club that Leslie has founded. I received this lovely email from Leslie asking me if I would like to be on her Kit club as she admired my work and thought I would fit in perfectly with her style of kits. I was already familiar with the C'est Magnifique Kits so how could I refuse they are soooooo my style, how could I not have jumped at this wonderful opportunity that Leslie was offering, so thanks Leslie!!! My April kits is on its way already and it has some gorgeous products in it that I am patiently waiting for, so that I may get started. I have so many ideas already running through my head. lol Anyway I just wanted to share this exciting bit of news and as I said if you've never stopped over to the C'est Magnifique site, pop on over and check it out, but be quick as these kits sell out and whilst you are there check out the Forum and see what Challenges are up and running and keep an eye on the blog as you never know when they are giving something away. Their is a great line up of designers that Iam sure most people are familiar with Valerie Serfozo, Camilla Ekman, Nadia Cannizzo, Beverly Sams, and the other newest member- Erin Blegen. Well thanks for dropping by and reading my little bit of news and I hope you can take some time to come over and play along. Wishing you all a great upcoming weekend. Bye for now Fi

Mad Hatters Hat - Dusty Attic

I have always been a huge fan of Dusty Attic products.  Why??? Because I love how intricate and delicate they are and they pretty much go with any style you have.  But I also like how versatile they are off a page as well.  I have already created a Mad Hatters hat once before, which I was happy enough to sell.  Although you may never recoup of the cost and time you put into a project like that, I was happy to give to someone who appreciated the work involved and see them get some use out of it.

Which them brought me to the dilemma that again I am without a hat.  A good friend of mine is having a Birthday Celebration and we are going to High Tea, I have been wanting to go to one of these in ages.  We always seem to talk about it but that is as far as it gets. So YAY we are finally going!!!!  The venue looks beautiful and it does mention that you can dress up to make the occasion that little more special.   See this is why I need a hat, lol.... and I didn't need much prompting to make one.  With the other one gone along with that chapter of my life,  I needed to make another especially since I have found this new Site called PMS, its a site solely to scrap about yourself, and if I am wanting to play along I need some photos.

But until I get those photos I do have pictures of my hat, I am really happy with how it turned out.  My first one was trial an error with trying to figure out dimensional.  I didn't have a pattern to go by so it was more or less cut and see what worked.  This one ironed out the mistakes in the last one.

Products Used - Dusty Attic - Lrg Peacock feather, mini hour glass and Stop Watch, Prima & Kaiser flowers, Websters & Maya Road Pins, Tulle, velvet. Hot Fix gems, Prima pearls and Jo Sonja Opal Dust. I also used a Digital Frame from two peas. Thanks for looking and those who have been taking the time to leave a comment. Fi

I have always been a huge fan of Dusty Attic products I don't think I have done too many pages that I have not been able to slip one of these amazing intricate little pieces on.  Its hard to narrow down some of my faves and over the next couple of weeks you will be seeing me create and hopefully inspire you as well some great projects.  But I thought I would start with this one.   Picture of my DD whilst we were visiting family in Kalgoorlie, the background is of the Super Pit, something you must see if you ever visit.

And check out this Sketch by Michelle Grant, how can you not play along with this inspiring sketch. Products Used: Websters All About Me Pack, Hambly Transparency, Dusty Attic Flourish, Prima & Kaiser blooms, Glimmer mist, Tim Holts stamp.
